Krewe Babalu Galveston Official Meetings
Krewe Babalu Galveston Official Meetings take place on the first Tuesday of every month at the Market Station in Galveston. If the scheduled date falls on a holiday, a notice will be posted on the front page and the meeting page with the alternative date. General meetings do not take place during the month in which the Mardi Gras Galveston season takes place.
The Board of Directors meet at 6:00pm to discuss official Krewe business. The BOD meeting is for officers only. The general meeting, which is open to both members and the general public begins at 7:00pm. These meetings are a social gathering for those interested in the Krewe’s “goings on” and who wish to gather with other members to support those efforts.
The general meetings consist of not only announcements but contests, charity workings, discussion of future ideas and functions, as well as exclusive “members only” opportunities. While membership is not required for attendance, it is necessary for participation in the business of the Krewe and for the exclusive pre-purchase of float rides, medallions and official Krewe Babalu merchandise.
