About Krewe Babalu Galveston
About Krewe Babalu Galveston – History of Krewe Babalu….
Krewe Babalu of Galveston was founded in 1995 by Guy Taylor. The purpose of our organization is to promote Mardi Gras festivities on Galveston Island and to promote civic and social activities within our organization and the city of Galveston. In 1999, we officially became the Non-Profit Organization known as Krewe Babalu, Inc. We are a member of the Galveston Chamber of Commerce. From a very small membership with big dreams, we have grown into the best and most fun Krewe in Galveston today. Our scheduled events include Epiphany, with the crowning of the Royal Court and the start of the Carnival season, a Den party, the All Krewe Parade, Parties, Bar Crawls and of course, Mardi Gras Celebration! Each year is new and exciting and you don’t want to miss a minute of it!
Krewe Babalu is the “every man’s mardi gras krewe” and to keep participation expenses affordable, we only put floats in select parades. The city of Galveston, many krewes and other groups also have activities as well as bands, shopping and attractions all over the island. Whether you are a local or coming in from out of town for the festivities, you can make a vacation out of it.
Let Krewe Babalu put you on a float and fill the rest of your trip with other exciting activities. To see what is going on, visit the Mardi Gras! Galveston and City of Galveston websites (links below). We hope to see you soon!
